Today in the boarding and training business is what we call THE PLAYOFFS, this is the second
busiest day in the boarding industry aside from our SUPER BOWL ... CHRISTMAS.  Most of our kennels after today will have over 100 dogs staying over night through the holiday weekend.  We are super excited, this is what we live for, happy customers ready for the holidays, excited puppies ready to play, Christmas music playing in the background and the sound of lots of barking in the air.  I love the holidays.

Here are a few tips or insider information for those of you boarding anywhere over the holidays:
  • Give yourself sometime to drop off it takes about 5 to 10 min however we want to ensure we have all the correct information, everything we do is for the safety of your dog
  • DO NOT bring in beds or blankets or toys, bacteria can be an issue in a kennel which is why we do not allow you to bring in personal items, to hard to monitor and keep clean
  • If brining your pets own food make sure to bag it up in individual baggies for each feeding, we do not know your dogs food or the amount he eats, this way we wont have to guess
  • Most kennels walk each dog a couple times of day to potty however Man's Best Friend offer's extra outside time WHICH I HIGHLY recommend. The kennel technicians do not have time to stand outside and play with over 100 dogs to take care of this is why we higher a separate staff for playtime. The playtime staff's responsible for taking your dog outside (or in a big playroom) to play and get some recess time! Another benefit to playtime is some of your dogs wont potty when we take them out, this playtime is an extra time for your pets to go ! go to www.mansbestfriend.com for more details or ask your local boarding kennel about outside time!
  • If your dog is aggressive please don’t keep that to yourself, we do board aggressive dogs, we just want to know sooner than later !!!
  • Don't wait until right before closing the day of before turkey day to drop off your pet, it is best for your dog to have some time to get settled in the kennel before we leave for the day so please check your nearest MBF's hours and plan accordingly. Good rule of thumb is 3 hours before close of business.
  • Please make sure your dogs vacciantions are current and up to date.  Most pet hospitals are closedfor the Thanksgiving holiday, which means we cant get those past due vaccinations done for you, so please check your vaccination records!
  • BRING YOUR DOGS IN ON A LEASH or IN A CRATE ..DO NOT let your dog run in our facility or any other facility with out a leash and collar, we have over 75 dogs dropping off today and some of those dogs do not like other dogs, its just not safe and we will ask you to leave the facility.
  • Finally, don't worry and have a great Thanksgiving Holiday. Man's Best Friend has done this turkey day thing for over 35 years so for lack of better words WE GOT THIS!!!

OBAMA CARE FOR PETS ??????

With so much talk about Obama Care, insurance, pros and cons etc., I felt that it was not fair to leave our four legged friends out of the loop!  NO I am not saying that FIDO qualifies for Obama Care, but what I am saying is that  pet insurance out there and its not a bad idea to at least check it out. http://www.moneysavingpro.com/pet-insurance/ The above link is the best site I have found so far to compare rates and services offered.  Before you ask, no Man's Best Friend does not sell insurance of any type, and no we are not looking to sell pet insurance in the future.  I do however feel its important to be up to date on trends and services in the pet industry and I think pet insurance is one that all my clients, pet lovers, family and friends should look into! Let me know what you think!
